- JaFaJ has learned from an Israeli source in Jerusalem, close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party, that the Israeli Security Cabinet’s decision to approve the entry of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) into Gaza followed what the source described as a firm and non-negotiable position from the United States.
- According to the source, American officials made it clear during discussions with Israel that the deployment of the International Stabilization Force was an essential component of the new Gaza security framework. The source described the American position as decisive in securing Israeli cabinet approval.
- The source further stated that extensive discussions took place over which countries would be permitted to contribute troops and police personnel. According to the source, Israel objected to the participation of military and police forces from certain countries. The source said two countries were specifically rejected but declined to identify them.
- Public reporting indicates that the Israeli Security Cabinet approved the deployment of the International Stabilization Force after ensuring that every national military or police contingent entering Gaza would require prior Israeli approval and close operational coordination with Israeli security authorities. It would be considered an attack against personnel from several participating nations, significantly increasing the political and military consequences.
- Hamas and its supporters within the Muslim Brotherhood, including networks operating in Jordan and Qatar, understand that attacks against an international peacekeeping force would risk confrontation with multiple countries rather than Israel alone.
